Urban Translation

The central theme of urban living environments is very functional, though sometimes bizarre, urban architecture. While being rather reserved, the photos are set to dramatic effect. The works are of cool beauty and transpose rugged concrete surfaces into elegant compositions. Architectual details provide visual ruptures which create rooms within the subject matter's compactness.

Metropol

Amberduo’s position towards contemporary architecture is shown in fassades, which give a face to modern metropolises. Aside the questions of function and benefits the photographic work concentrates on aesthetics and geometrical structures.
Inspired by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and by a process of alianation, inversion and reduction of colour Amberduo creates a series of seemingly virtual worlds, which are in fact based on real streetscapes in London, Amsterdam and Berlin.

Urban Reflection

... is a photo series in which AmberDuo experimented with montages, doubling and mirroring effects as well as assigning unusual colourings and so developed a new pictorial language. Concrete becomes seemingly weightless and architectural forms defy static rules.
